BREAKING NEW
GROUND
A new boulevard entrance honors Mary Maloney,
a true pioneer for women in Maryland.
Cecil College is expanding with exciting new improvements designed to elevate the overall
experience and services for our community. The new Facilities Management Building and
the creation of Mary Maloney Boulevard along with a second College entrance continue to
progress toward completion, slated for September 2025. The project promises to enhance
both the functionality and accessibility of the campus while honoring a trailblazer in the
College’s history.
The Facilities Management building, a 16,000-square-foot facility, will be the hub for
modern campus maintenance operations. Positioned strategically at the northern end
of the campus, near the Cecil College Foundation offices at the Cedar House, the new
structure will house building maintenance, grounds maintenance, custodial operations,
duplication services, receiving/distribution services, administrative offices, and campus
storage.
The facility’s design integrates sustainability into its very framework. Aiming for LEED Silver
Certification, a standard for environmentally responsible and efficient building practices,
the facility will feature a variety of green-building elements.

The project incorporates LEED elements
pertaining to sensitive land protection and
site sustainability, green vehicle equipment,
water and energy efficiencies, material
and resources sustainable practices,
indoor environmental quality, along with
innovative and integrative processes,
reinforcing the College’s commitment to
sustainability. The LEED Silver goal aligns
with state requirements for new public
building projects, ensuring that the College
