those tools, so they know how to use
them in their future careers, where AI is
appropriate. But, we also educate them
about the fact that anything generated

Assistant Professor II in the Visual
Communications Program, Jonathan
Cone, teaches courses in the Simulation
and Game design degree program
where he educates students about AI
in the gaming industry. Professor Cone
teaches students how to use AI to check
their work. “When you write code, you
have a syntax that must be written
a specific way and, if you misspell
something, your program won’t run.
Sometimes, the error is something
really small in the code you wrote, like
a missing comma. When this happens,
I have students enter their script into
AI. It will quickly find the error and
tell them where to change it. In that
context, I think it’s a useful tool, because
the students are still creating their own
scripts and learning to write code,” said
Cone.
