Conversational Spanish II
Gain competency in the oral use of the
language, increase fluency by reinforcing
previously learned materials, expand
vocabulary and patterns of speech. This course
emphasizes the practical application of the
language. Note: Textbook required. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Spanish III
and IV classes.

Conversational Spanish III
Take your Spanish speaking skills to a higher
level in this intermediate language class. Build
confidence in daily conversation and gain
additional vocabulary and communication
skills. This course will reinforce stem changing,
irregular, and reflexive verbs; practice
Conditional Perfect, Imperfect, and Present
tenses; and introduce Past Perfect, Future, and
Conditional tenses. Students and instructor
will converse primarily in Spanish to give a full
immersion experience. Pre-requisites: Spanish
I, II, III and Spanish IV. Note: Textbook required.

Music Lessons
Discover your musical talent and learn to play
the music you have always loved! Lessons
on most instruments are available, including
guitar, voice, piano, drums, woodwinds, strings,
brass and more. Notes: No senior tuition waiver.
All levels welcome. Students meet once a week
for private lessons. Lessons are consecutive
unless otherwise arranged with the instructor.

Online classes that meet virtually with your
instructor and classmates on a regularly
occurring day/time, allowing for a highly
engaging, interactive experience.
AARP Driver Safety Program
This course addresses the physical changes that
can affect the driving ability for experienced
motorists age 50 and older. Students will learn
tips and techniques to help prevent accidents
and foster independence. An informative, easyto-read course workbook is included based on
data collected from federal and state agencies,
universities, and traffic safety organizations.
Invest a few hours in this important program
and reap the benefits of safer driving and
possible lower insurance rates. Topics
include how to drive defensively, how to
deal with aggressive drivers, proper use and
maintenance of vehicle, how to compensate for
vision and hearing loss, and safety aspects of
the car including safety belts, air bags, and antilock brakes. Notes: Behind-the-wheel exercises
are NOT part of this course. Participants who
are AARP members are required to pay $20 and
participants who are not AARP members are
required to pay $25 to the instructor on the day
of the class, cash or check only. A 30-minute
lunch break is included. Students should bring

PROJECT LITERACY
Become a volunteer and help an adult
gain the joy of reading.
Cecil County Project Literacy makes a difference by offering free, confidential one-onone tutoring to teach adults basic reading
and writing skills. Each student works with
a trained volunteer and receives books free
of charge.
LITERATURE & WRITING
Introduction to Creative Writing
This course introduces students to the
techniques and practice of writing and reading
the genres of poetry, fiction, and literary
nonfiction. Topics include understanding
the creative process of writers, the state of
contemporary culture as seen in current
literature, and the students’ own writing
process, passions, and limitations. Note:
Corresponds to credit course EGL215.
