One if By Land
The American Revolutionary War began with
2 lanterns placed in the bell tower of a Boston,
Massachusetts church. A rallying call of that
Revolution was “give me liberty or give me
death” proclaimed at a church in Richmond,
Virginia. This course will examine how some
churches in the colonies were affected by the
war, how they got through it, and how they
survived after the war in the face of sweeping
religious institutional changes in the former
British colonies. Instructor: Mease
